Weird depressing moment of the day - I miss being here, but I miss when it used to be so active and Dalton was all we'd talk about. It's so quiet these days, and I guess I thought I'd come back and it'd be like old times, Dalton talk half the day.

There's NO community like this anywhere I've seen elsewhere online, and ya'll are my friends even 9 years after Dalton began. Maybe quarantine is getting to me, but I feel sad.

I keep stopping my Warblerland stuff and thinking "What's the point?"

I know it's not just Dalton, I keep thinking "What's the point?" about all my hobbies lately, and end up just doing something mindlessly because I have no motivation to finish/start anything really.

But I guess I wanted to jump back into Dalton and fall back down the Rabbit Hole, and it... doesn't feel right? IDK how to explain.

I also keep wanting to spam Dalton stuff - questions, headcanons, etc but I feel annoying and like nobody cares. 90% of my Dalton posts are ignored, so why bother.

Everyone around is losing jobs, family getting sick...wondering how to pay rent or get groceries.

Yeah I guess so. I haven't left the house for a single minute in about two weeks, and it's honestly starting to get to me. Maybe also with my birthday, unable to do anything sucks too.

I do think we should be posting more, distractions are great and we NEED happy or exciting things to keep us busy. Not a lot most of us can do otherwise.

Anyway, I don't think it's just you at all. I read an article about how the pandemic is breaking people's emotional balance and how people even lose interest in their hobbies and things they like because there's so much stress and anxiety around; like this constant sense of being fight or flight.

We're all in "survive! now!" kind of a mode

I suppose that's one reason to keep on keeping on though. There might still be people who find stories and things a relief or a respite from the crazy going outside...

Yeah it makes sense. I have seen a lot of posts mentioning mental health. I guess I didn't think it would affect me since I was off on disability for all of 2019, but I could still go places. This is different and worrying.

I'm loving reading Dalton to my husband. I started with 1 chapter a night and now it's 3-4 every day. It really takes my mind off things. Dalton is still my happy placem

Yeah... There's some doctors that said that the mental health hotlines and orgs are being SWARMED, not just by old patients but by new ones. The struggle is affecting even neurotypical people, so you can imagine what that does to people who aren't.

Hahaha he's enjoying it and is happy to sit there drawing as I read to him. I was giggling heaps tonight while finding facts to update the site and he said it was nice to see me so happy.

Maybe I just joined back at the wrong time then.
