I have a question about electronic tax filing. I’m not expecting a refund so the form doesn’t show my bank info. However I filled it in with the website (TaxACT). Question- will the government get that info (for purposes of the stimulus money) even if I don’t see the number printed on my hard copy? How’s that work?

If the irs doesn’t have you bank info for direct deposit then a check will be mailed.

Mailing me a check here to Holland is useless. I can’t cash it.

but you did fill it in? tbh I'm not sure, if you've filed and the IRS has direct deposit info on file for you, it should get direct deposited.

just because you're not expecting a refund, doesn't mean the IRS doesn't have access to the infor

this is unlike anything I've ever seen, the theory and what they're telling us is if you have DD info on file in the last several years, your stimulus should get deposited

Also don’t pay to file your taxes. The IRS has some free filing links, but you must go to the irs site and click through to the link to get it

I don’t understand how your taxes can result in nothing. You either owe or you get a refund. Check again or do it on another site

My taxes (not American, though) are so close to zero owing or refunded every year that neither happens. Here anything less than $2 is neither refunded nor collected; my owing is always under fifty cents.

Gogo ♔ : I’ve earned zero money so I owe zero money and because I paid zero in taxes I get zero back. Normally I don’t even file. I’m only filing so I can get the stimulus.

Misha : so if TaxACT has my info then in theory the irs can get the info from them right? Then they won’t mail me a check right?
