Maxie
I feel like part of the healing process for Fran post-story is a small list of things:
Maxie
1. Find a healthy outlet for her anger, which will most likely become cleaning, exercise, and talking to a counselor (assuming she could find one, if not Codsworth will have to do).
Maxie
2. Find distracts/Revive previous hobbies: Meaning she'd probably get back into song writing and playing music, might go back to the drums, singing or learn a new instrument if she can find one. Might also volunteer at the Diamond City School to help the kids learn baseball.
Maxie
3. Practice letting things go that upset her- mostly minor things that may piss her off but does her well to disengage from. Learning to essentially walk away from situations that aren't worth getting upset over.
Maxie
4. Get a real job. Not to imply she's lazy or crappy for essentially helping other people but in order to properly care for Synth!Shaun, she needs to be a little more sedentary- or at least have something official that doesn't rely on bargaining caps. She'd do a LOT of work for the Minutemen, its a job she'd really throw herself into.
Maxie
After Nick also offers to take her on as a junior detective, she'd definitely take him up on the offer. Still provides that sense of adventure and helping others without getting too stressed out over resources, raider attacks and other shit.
Maxie
5. Embrace her sorrow. Fran was raised in MH for most of her teenhood which meant she bottled up her sadness. In Mission Hill, crying was a sort of weakness and people thought less of you for it (idea of: well, we have it worse- so why are you crying?). Fran needs to learn its ok to have sad moments.
Maxie
6. Change for her own sake. This'll be the most difficult thing for her to nail down, as she usually changes her behavior for the others instead of her own sake. Nate and Nick are just two small examples.
