False Claims of Nationwide Lockdown for COVID-19

Many different versions of this hoax originated on conspiracy theorist websites and end times blogs.

I heard tell of it today...I think it might not be the worst idea if it happened

People need to stay home when not at work. Food and gasoline are needed for all the health care workers, like nursing homes and home health aides, plus all the hospitals and their staff. Utilities need to be maintained. Fire and police can't stop working, either.

Any so-called shutdown will be limited. Some states are already in a version of shutdown but nothing like the hoax posts describe. Groceries and pharmacies will stay open.

The old and disabled still need to be fed and showered, whether at home or in a nursing facility. Supplies still need to be delivered to groceries and pharmacies, and the restaurants that will stay open for delivery.

However, unnecessary businesses might be called upon to close, like clothing stores, liquor stores, car dealerships, etc..

The saddest thing is that even knowing the lockdown is fake, there are so many people out there that have been successfully conditioned not to believe the truth, they will reject the refutation as fake.
