Here's how hilariously awful US healthcare is (and/or is perceived to be)

my boss is Polish, but currently working out of San Francisco on a tourist visa

our company is based in Hong Kong

she is genuinely considering flying back to Hong Kong, where things are pretty well locked down at this point, rather than stay in the US

because at least if she does get sick on the trip to HK, or while she's there, she can at least... y'know, get tested and treated

Do they have US insurance at all? There some sort of order in California about insurance covering corinavuris costs.

she has travel insurance but apparently she's concerned it won't cover something like an epidemic

I told her to look into it since Cali is better than most states about stuff like this, hopefully she does

but I can't exactly blame her for being like orrrr maybe I'll nope out of this whackadoo country

That is funny and makes me want to legit cry
