I find it interesting that he's using Fremen as his key metaphor here given that they were very obviously based on the Arab Revolt and the Empire on the delining Ottoman Empire...

...without acknowledging that the Ottoman Empire stood as a military superpower for 500 years after "settling down" or that the Arabs were helped by two separate industrialized empires and World War Fucking I

I'm glad someone's outlining some of the many, many things wrong with that view.

yeah - Fremen isnt the best usage, but still highlights how wrong and toxic that view is.
