[RP] I find it easier to RP characters that speak audible English in their source canon because then I can read my tags back in my head in their voice and make sure it sounds right. Does anyone else do this?

Not always, but sometimes I'll put the dub into how I play the character if I don't already have a clear idea of how they talk.

When I played Chelsea from Coyote Ragtime Show in Azume, I'd seen the sub more often (her username is even a line from the Japanese track), but as I went on, I started incorporating more of how she talks in the dub because Monica Rial's performance was more distinctive and fit well.

But with, say, Haruka, I just went off the Japanese text (and sometimes went closer to that than the translations, e.g. keeping how she repeats some words).

If I can't do that thing I was just talking about, I find myself just sort of falling back on stock voices for how characters talk

Even in cases where I don't think the dub performance is that great, having a dub to give me an idea of phrasing and tone is super helpful

Or in the case of a really good dub performance (Honoka's dub performance from Love Live is probably the best example here) it makes writing tags a hundred times easier
