i think bendis is a better editor than he is a writer. like some of his story ideas aren't bad but he sucks at executing them and doing right by the characters in the progress. him as an ideas guy who works behinds the scene and tries to run an overarching narrative is probably a better suited job than the mess he's been doing.

yeah, agreed. and when it comes to diversity he can be clumsy, arrogant and tone deaf but generally his heart is in the right place

all the better to be an editor who would be open when his writers come to him wanting more diversity in their casts/stories. since like he's tone deaf but he'd be someone more open to listening and being willing to go for it.
