Approx 4 mos left till gastric sleeve surgery. Getting excited and nervous, but this pre-diet (since June) is terrible! My insurance is requiring so many hoops to jump through, I wish I could afford self pay. Lose 35 lbs,12 nutrition classes w/weigh ins, 2 seminars, psych eval, cardiac eval, about 5 PCP visits. OH ...I can't gain an OUNCE the whole year
Tishi
Such a nice added bonus for those who have struggled with keeping off weight their whole lives. Make it nearly impossible. I have THREE more weigh ins. I can do this. (gym)

you got this girl!

sacrifice... reward
Tishi
Gogo ♔ : Thank you. It will be an awesome reward...just the hardest thing I have ever done LOL Bit whiny at this point in the game
Gogo ♔
your drs only want you to succeed, and the first step is will power
Gogo ♔
yess but the you at the other end of this journey, is waiting for you
Gogo ♔
i love watching wls shows, i see people are so happy when theyve finally done it
Gogo ♔
its a dangerous surgery if you dont make yourself be strict
Gogo ♔
so if you are going through ALL Of this suffering, make it count
Gogo ♔
you did awesome, you've survived the holidays
Tishi
Truth. I have pretty much already lost the weight...now, keeping it off is the key. I am still trying to lose a bit more, then right before I will be on a two week liquid diet for quick weight loss to shrink my liver, for an easier surgery. My Mom had the gastric bypass (very similar) and I am thrilled I have her to turn to with questions
Tishi
I nearly lost it during the holidays LOL our cruise, then Christmas...I was VERY close to messing it up, but I made it through. BARELY lol
Gogo ♔
your experience can in turn help others down the road too
Tishi
Yes, I am getting ready to start blogging as I get closer. Most likely no one will care LOL but someone might. And if my experience can inspire or help, I am ALL for that
Tishi
It is also nice to be able to look back on the experience, when things get rough I can look back and say, wow, but look how far I have come
Gogo ♔
yess i love blogs
Gogo ♔
reddit also has a wls subreddit im sure
Gogo ♔

It does. Joined it lol

any journey is helpful with a community
Tishi
Got rid of facebook recently, best thing I have ever done...but there were a TON of groups on there. Ugh. So I decided reddit would be the way to go
Tishi
I think I am going to call my blog "The Easy Way Out" kinda tongue in cheek, because that is what everyone thinks gastric surgery is. LOL Including me! I refused to do it for years. Then, I was like...I am 39, this situation is getting worse and HARDER to control. It is time.
Tishi
My mom had it at 44. She is currently almost 60 now. She lost about 130 lbs but has kept 110-115 off. She fluctuates 5-10 here and there but never more than that. Easier to lose 10 than 100, which I agree.
Gogo ♔
yes sometimes its nicer to be anonymous
Gogo ♔
i dont think it's easy at all, from what ive seen its dangerous as hell
Gogo ♔
its a risk you take hoping for a good outcome
Gogo ♔
i watch 800lb life
Tishi
It used to be way more dangerous. It is almost routine now. My doctor has an amazing success rate, meaning the extremely low mortality rate. Because he is so strict
Tishi
Oh yea...when they are that size the mortality rate goes way up. Very scary
Nimil
be very wary of joining the weight loss community, my best friend did it when she got her surgery and people have been awful to her... lots of support but a lot of harassment and awful people who troll her when she succeeds...
Tishi
Nimil : Thank you, I will be careful. I probably will not use it for posting successes but more for questions if I have one that my Mom doesn't have the answer to. More for lurking, if I am being honest. I read up on blogs for tips and tricks, I would pretty much do the same with weight loss groups.
Nimil
i only warn because i have watched her struggle with the negative people and i hate to see someone go through that when they are already on a hard journey as it is!
Nimil
she has went from like 500lbs to something in the low 200s i cannot remember currently what her weight is but her story is pretty amazing
Tishi
Indeed! I really appreciate the heads up. People can be total asshats lol I am starting out around 300...so my goal is to be in the 'ONEderland' someday. But I have a gf who had the surgery and she went from 470 to 250 and she is SO happy and is starting a new life!
Tishi
She said her only regret is that she didn't do it when she was 25 instead of waiting till 36. I am excited, I am a very active obese lady, but my weight keeps me from things I would love to do...that you have to be under 250 to do, and I am SO looking forward to those type of things (parasailing, scuba diving, etc)
Inc
Tishi : You are doing it already!! I don't know you but I think if you've come this far...there ain't no turning back!!! YOU GOT THIS GIRLIE!!!
Tishi
Inc : Thank you!!
kesseret

Tishi
kesseret : Thank you!!
