Today within a couple hours timespan: 1. Phone charger, age four months, breaks 2. Coworker slaps a hot pizza pan down on top of my glasses

It is my fault for having them off but also: if I keep them on for the five minutes it takes me to spray the pans I get oil all over them which is bad for the coating

Th is was substantially worse for the coating

I drive to work this weekend

Maybe I power through it for that ten minutes and then leave them in the car

Like I'm still wearing them right now but I am awfully nauseous and dizzy

If your glasses have a coating and that coating just had extreme heat applied to it I would not feel safe having them on your face regardless of whether you can see through the glasses

speaking as someone who occasionally works with materials that release hideous chemicals and fumes when nuked

I realize this is an immediate problem but shit like that can cause more intense evil down the road
