So adopted a kitten and we were told he had been medically cleared. Except for the fact that he was sneezing and he had diarrhea.

We were told that if it didn't stop the place that we adopted our boy from would give usdiarrhea meds and that the sneezing was just allergies. They gave him the works.

Clearly they did not.

Concerned about his sneezing and his poos we went to a vet and she just recommended a fecal sample and an antibiotic shot and that tends to sort out most things.

Apparently my little guy didn't have most things because the sneezing and the diarrhea doo-doos were not going away. Then one of my other cats started sneezing as well.

Then she stopped eating, drinking, became lethargic, had the saddest little meows ever. So I took her into the vets and I told them to give her the works. She needed an IV because she was dehydrated and she had a fever. They took mucus samples and everything. They gave us some antihistamines and a gel to put in her ears to stimulate appetite.

They told me lab results would take 3-5 days (weekends not included) in the meantime I would give her steambaths, and use the meds. She was improving a little, eating and drinking, still sneezing, but I was glad she was taking in food and water.

Get the lab results back today and she has hemotropic mycoplasma which is a bacterial infection that can cause anemia in cats and unless you get lab work done it can go undetected.

These people did not do everything to ensure they were putting a healthy cat out there, poor kitty. And my poor poor other cat. When it seemed contageous I isolated my senior citizen to make sure she wouldn't get sick either, she seems perfectly healthy and I want her to stay that way.

I think part of the problem is the foster mom had 8 cats in one room.

He is doing alright but either him or his big sister left a hidden diarrhea present in some towels. I was picking it up to put it in the was and poo...poo everywhere. Poo all over me.

I just stripped out of my clothes and threw myself in the shower and then I had to hunt down everything I touched to see if there was poop smears.
