On the first day of the new year, I spent the entire day...

Admittedly I stopped eat and also I was watching a drama at the same time and also I made the dress muuuch more complicated

The original pattern is a sleeveless top with a gathered skirt, so like... three pattern pieces

I added the sleeves, the sleeve-ruffle, the overskirt-peplum thing, and made a half-circle skirt with a giant ruffle...

...also every single seam is a French seam because, baby clothes.
[ 派 ]
and then I added some decorative stitching just because
[ 派 ]
my friend and her husband named their baby Zelda after, well, Zelda

so I decided to... yeah.

Tomrorow, hand-sewing because I fucked up and made the wrong decision of putting the sleeve into the outer layer instead of the lining layer

So now I need to seal that seam without raw edges somehow

Mostly I'm just trying to decide if I want to cut out the sleeve completely and either redo it or set it into the lining instead

But cutting out the sleeve is a pain in the butt too

Anyway, I did end up cutting out the sleeves (and then ripping out the remaining bits) and sewing it into lining so that the entire inside is one smooth piece

The back has a triangle cut-out

There are bits and parts that aren't quite a professional finish but also... I'm not a pro

The back actually closes with a snap, I just also stuck a flower button on because it's pretty
