Ed: Embrace Ed likes hugs, but he's super awkward about them. The only person he's ever successfully hugged without it being weird is Oswald. He's getting better at it in Dup, because he's getting some practice.
Riddler: Flirt As the far more proficient flirter of the pair, Riddler does use flirtation as a weapon, to get close to people, but he also just enjoys the banter and back and forth of a good flirt. It's a game and a reasonably gentle one.
Ed isn't great at flirting. His flirting is occasionally mistaken for making threats. He uses riddles and weird gifts that aren't wanted, but he means well.
Ed and Riddler: Gift Gift giving is a shared venture. Ed can be very thoughtful, or a bit odd, but there's good intentions in his gifts. He cooks meals and treats for people mostly now. Riddler, on the other hand, doesn't give gifts. He makes gestures. Grand sweeping gestures of gifts, like kidnapping the man involved in hurting you to hurt back.
Ed: Heart At the first sign of affection and kindness, Ed is in love. And once he feels betrayed, it's as whole hearted as any actual scorned love. Ed claims to not act on emotions, but he knows virtually nothing of healthy love, so throws himself into anything that might match what he's heard of it. Riddler's heart is shaped and stolen by one person.
