La Comtesse
you can a cheap one at Harbor Freight, I think, which would be good for learning, maybe? Then you can upgrade when you feel up to it.
【ThatAlistair】
So cool!
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
La Comtesse : I'm planning to! and really, that'll be all I need
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
and an air compresser
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
and then, heck, if I want to get an airbrush, I've got everything I need to do figures
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
there's a lot of overlap between crafting needs re: dice and like, figurines
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
like, I'm going to use some saved up funds and some christmas money to get a resin 3d printer so I can make masters for making molds. once we're in a better financial place, anyway
ColdGracie
oh pretty
La Comtesse
airbrushes are cool. if the weather is nice tomorrow I'm going to do some brushing outside.
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ

Lady Stardust
ahhh the best dice
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
Some more, including some random one off stuff that was literally just extra resin left over

FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
I found a GITD glitter
ℭ𝔬𝔫𝔠𝔞𝔱𝔢𝔫𝔞𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫
omg amazing
Lady Stardust
I love the moonstoney ones
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
I've been trying playing with the amount of and use of color vs glitter
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
Need to finish up the Star Wars ones I did
【ThatAlistair】

FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
Terrible pictures but I didn’t have any good light
Lady Stardust
they're like fruit jelly dice
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
yup yup. I might make some mica looking ones but I was playing around with colors.
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
𓄤𓆑𓂋𓅱𓏭𓄖𓎡𓏭
I want to eat those sets real bad
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
I'm going to try some pearly when I get home. It's fun since these kinds of dice have specific color requirements
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
https://images.plurk.com/310JvQxEuc5dkjMbmUthul.jpg better picture!
N ᴇ ᴛ ʜ ◈◇◇
mind if I ask what materials/cost of materials this runs you? I'm interested in starting making some resin jewelry/accessories but idk how prohibitive the start-up costs might be
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
N ᴇ ᴛ ʜ ◈◇◇ : you can get a decent two part epoxy resin for about 20 bucks to get started, many of which come with gloves and some supplies.
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
to make your own molds, there's also a decent silicon mold making material for about 25 on amazon.
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
but you can find quite a few molds for various jewelry pieces for five-10 dollars for a set
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
a mica sampler and/or a pigment sampler usually goes for about 14-20 dollars
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
with the knowledge that a shimmer mica + pigments looks Very Similar to all different color micas
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
if they don't come with gloves, you want to get disposable gloves, a silicon mat, and popsicle sticks work great for mixing most times
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
also a mask is good! I had one from my soap work
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
tldr probably about 100$
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
if you're starting from absolute scratch
N ᴇ ᴛ ʜ ◈◇◇
awesome, thanks!
N ᴇ ᴛ ʜ ◈◇◇
I've worked with resin before, but with nails
