yeah you know if you start from a place of looking down on the audience then it doesn't really matter what you say or do and you aren't responsible in any way for the message that's taken away

if you disguise it as a comic book movie and they accept it as a comic book movie and parse it by the same rules and decide your psychokiller protagonist must be at least on some level the good guy, that's clearly their fault for not figuring out that you tricked them into watching a movie they wouldn't have watched without that deception
