Am in a Dylan kind of mood

I haven't listened to "Blonde on Blonde" in its entirety for years, but a conversation elsewhere about Bobby's upsetting the folkies in 1966 at Newport (with Lotusceriano, who blames me for the 1960s having the best music ever) reminded me that it was one of the most amazing albums ever produced
Gingo!
掰噗~ : Thank you!

This one from the album I suggested to Lotusceriano, 'Highway 61 Revisited'. "Desolation Row" is one of the last of his pre-electric hits

... and the only sound that's left, after the ambulances go, is Cinderella sweeping up on Desolation Row

ooh, another thought, from my conversation with Lotusceriano but probably actually channeling PlurkDevi I think when I grow up I'm going to go back to college and become a Dylanologist

I have him tattooed on my right shoulder.

I do look forward to your re-assessment of The Self Portrait album

bobolicious - I might argue that. I think Nobel was so ashamed of his most terrible invention that anything that betters man would have been worthy of a category to him. Books and music and the like certainly better man and I think that's what Alfred would have wanted.

Blonde On Blonde is excellent. Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands... Listened to that on repeat many times. :-)

Nice.

I do think he deserved the Nobel prize. Songs are poetry.
Hype
After reading this, I set my cell phone to shuffle Dylan. Ahhh....

Yes, Gingo! : Let's switch careers!

johndiii : by the time I got to Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands I was growing bored with his young voice, so I switch over to this:

Yes, bobolicious, I do. He is a creative genius, and as Hilda says, songs are poetry

Agreed about the Nobel. Quite deserved. I thought the same about Jorge Luis Borges, but he died before they got to him.

Gingo! : I like that version. Very different in tone from the original, though. This has always been one of my favorites (along with Sara and Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts):
Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue (Video)

Some variations in the lyrics, though.

johndiii : Did you ever listen to "Blood On The Tapes"? Like most Dylanobilia, it's subject to various origination legends. My favorite is that he first recorded it at a new home studio he and his brother had built in Minnesota. When the New York music execs heard it they said they liked the concept, but it was way too dark, and insisted on a rerecording

I love that song, and that's a great version
