And Taura literally never interacts with an animal in canon, but she's very good and soft and careful with kids, so I extrapolate from there.

one of my very favorite Taura scenes is the one where she's been so patient and gentle with a bunch of traumatized girls that they hide behind her when other people approach, despite Taura looking about 10 times scarier than anyone else in the room.

(I also like the fact that Taura, in uniform, ties a ridiculous pink bow around her neck because she's trying to make herself look less intimidating to children. The viewpoint character is just like, "uuuuuuh. I don't think that will make a dent, but good effort")
