... Kind of reminds me of LegalEagle assessments into things: By constitutional law, what assholes do shouldn't be feasibly defensible in court, but you've got morons on the wrong places that who don't know or don't care about that.
I saw on a video that Farron didn't have anywhere as much hope that Republicans will betray him. Like, he believed even the Media was complicit in lying about assuming they would turn on him.
As much as I want him to go on trial and be removed from office, judging by how everyone that so much as insinuates the demagogue is doing something wrong then returns to him like whimpering dogs, sadly I am fearing not much may come out of the impeachment, even if the grounds for them are fucking hectares.
and destroying the Republican party by skewering them on their own sword dildos up their asses is fine by me even if it takes "a long time" it's still going unbelievably quicker than I thought it would in 2000
Regarding his typical rallies, it took me a long time to realize, but the demagogue holding his hate-filled rallies is his only form of support group. He's humilliated on stadiums, on politics, in the world stage, his wife hates him, his goons turn on him...
... so his only outlet are the cultists that follow and eat his every word without question every time it happens. And likewise, I believe the cultists come to his rallies as a support group to reaffirm that no, they were not conned, they were not following a thin-skinned manchild.
One of the videos I saw, I don't know if you had posted it, had a cultist that refused to listen to anything regarding the possiblity of impeachment, and threatened to use his firearm if it happened.
It's a form of desperation. A man is locked up or tortured, his only means of escape can be drugs, entertainment, or even someone promising something better.
I see a society falling in line with tyrants as a diseased one, and I admit it's the biggest problem I see in all societies (both american and mexican, but also of many others right now). What I do wonder is how can these cults be broken, while demagogues can still open their mouths.
.... Something random. Been reading Marcus Aurelis' meditations. It's a beautiful book on stoicist philosophy, and reaffirms human strength through one's mind, and the belief that good and law are one and the same.
One of his beliefs, that calms me on one end is the mention that even if bad shit comes to happen, that you'll still have your mind to cope with it. I believe he may be right for the most part, as you'll learn how to process things and learn how to deal with it.
... Morbid curiosity. How much is Bloomberg actually gaining in votes? Kyle seemed worried in his last video, noting how he was shooting up by practically burying the waves with his own propaganda.
Here in Mexico, all candidates bury the sodding country in election propaganda. But right now, people here seem to react against over-saturation of candidates due to how jaded they are towards all politicians in general.
I find it weird nobody mentions Biden doesn't really want to run for president -- though with every time I see his face, every time I hear him speak, and now how he mentions he'd prefer to be a one-term president, it becomes clear he doesn't want to get involved at all.
((In fact, I come to think him not wanting Democrats to dominate makes me think he wants to keep good relationships with Republicans, so as not to upset power structures.))
If it's a progressive... it's up in the air. The networks will side with the demagogue, but a progressive could tear him a new one by showing his links to power.
because while bribery in a rando is not great, it seems weird to call it a "high crime," but it's one of the two, I think, actually explicitly specified
er no yeah "high crime" literally means abuse of office to commit the crime; such that if you were not in that position you could not have committed that crime
...it's weird that Legal Eagle guy doesn't point out (at least at the part I'm at now) that one reason there haven't been more impeachments is that people can just... resign willingly, rather than forcing an impeachment process to drag them out kicking and screaming. >_>
oh no i know that, I mean just for the context of "why haven't there been more impeachments" which could make someone think that it's a process that should be avoided at all costs
I'm guessing they didn't have an explicitly Bribery article because they didn't want it to be shot down on some dubious technicality about the use of the word "Bribery" even though what he did was exactly Bribery
if you solicit a bribe in order to carry out your duties and then you get caught by a supervisor and carry out your duties without the bribe, that doesn't mean you didn't engage in Bribery it just means you were caught in the act and tried to cover your ass
