My sour dough starter is now on day two of being fed up. I am hoping to be able to bake with it on saturday

Jay You know much more here.

I got a bit of my mom's starter, it smells much better than mine did (mine started smelling like vomit). I fed it yesterday and this morning and it had not been fed for a while when I got it. It is bubbly and happy in the jar
Craftyviking
It is 3 days of feeding before use, right?
Jay
the big ticket item you're looking for is does it more than double in 5-6 hours after feeding if kept at a reasonably warmish temp. Also the float test is a good sign, too. If you drop a bit in water and it floats then it's good to go
Craftyviking
Oooo I will have to keep an eye on him for that
Craftyviking
He also needs a name
Jay
we have Bucky and Natasha here XD
Jay

Unrelated to sour dough but moving here to not rant at cannibalherpes plurk. I am planning on getting myself a bokashi set and use that to feet the worm compost. It will add another step to the composting but the bokashi should be able to handle everything that the worms can't. On the other hand I don't really have space for this
Craftyviking
I do worm composting. Have for years now. Not a lot, mostly just for the great compost to use in the garden.

I really like it. They are rather clean and not smelly. Not if I keep the balance in there right. They are fed almost vegan which also helps. I say almost because they do get eggshells
Craftyviking
I have noticed they love carrot peels. I think they like the sweet
