Well, now I can say that I've read The Thrawn Trilogy

arwingyoshi
all Thrawn wanted to do was expand his Empire

arwingyoshi
I for one welcome the new blue overlord

arwingyoshi
Joruus can go sit in a hole

arwingyoshi
plan to read Outbound Flight next

I can see how even back then, Thrawn got so many fans and became such a long-lasting character

arwingyoshi
it was also interesting to read something that was obviously written before the prequel movies

arwingyoshi
when the Clone Wars was pretty much just a throwaway line by Leia and Lucas hadn't really ironed out the details on what that was all about

And the entire section set on Honoghr is interesting af for all the different sides of Thrawn's character it shows. He's respectful of other cultures and their traditions, but won't hesitate to assert authority in ways contrary to them if he feels like the situation truly calls for it. And the turbolaser demonstration, that was some hardass shit

arwingyoshi
that it was
