so anyway here's wonderwall a progress pic https://images.plurk.com/36akJlJAJUDJyfCAdFIQpM.jpg
sparklecap🌟
there is still a lot to do but it's vaguely wearable (I still need to hold the chest piece on with my arms at my sides or hold it up in the back)
sparklecap🌟
I am generally speaking very happy with how it's coming so far but there are a lot of little things that bug me, and I don't know if I'll have time to fix for next week. right now I know I have to focus on the important stuff
sparklecap🌟
magicalmemories thank you!! it is SO MUCH detail
sparklecap🌟
so I need to get the sides sorted, the shoulder pads sewn on, put the bracers together, and fix the snaps on the back piece... that's kind of it as far as essential stuff. the shoulders and bracers are already like 80% done, collectively
sparklecap🌟
(also i hope you don't mind I grabbed the cosplay emote)
sparklecap🌟
ultrapreme vinyl. it's one of the yaya han fabrics.
sparklecap🌟
and the red has been discontinued so I had to cut about 10 inches off the bottom of my supergirl cape;;
sparklecap🌟
the cape was too long anyway so it worked out okay in the end!
sparklecap🌟
God I know. my comics!carol suit was the first time I'd really worked with it and I did the tissue paper trick, but that wasn't going to cut it for this stuff when there's so much detail in the stitching. I wound up getting a teflon presser foot and it has been amazing
sparklecap🌟
well, the first time I made anything huge out of vinyl on a sewing machine, I should clarify
sparklecap🌟
I had done accessories or smaller pieces out of PVC before and mostly glued them together
sparklecap🌟
and then stuff like belts or bracers out of marine vinyl, but still ... not an entire suit.
