When you go to your doctor and after listening to your case the first question is "And what do you want me to do now?" Uh... you're the doctor, how about helping me?
Saff
It’s because sometimes people do have an idea in mind about what they want doing. It’s frustrating but the amount I go to my GP I find it speeds things up (but that’s me lol, I’m medically trained)

Saff : interesting I had no idea (LOL) When I go to the doc I am like "Tell me what to do!" haha

Yep, my doctor asks me that right away to ensure she hears my thoughts and concerns. After I share, she expresses her own thoughts. I prefer it as I feel heard rather than treated like an idiot.

i hate when they do that. actually i am here bcs i am at the end of my ideas, Help me!

I guess it depends on what you are there for. If I know what's causing my problem and I just want a referral or a prescription for something, it's different than when I'm there because I have vague symptoms I can't explain.

Doctor ? . . . . haven't seen him in ten years.

Here they try to work with you for a solution. Sometimes I’m like Saff says and I kinda have an idea other times it’s like....you tell me doc! LOL But he does always check, “does this sound ok for you to do”? That way I can give input.

This is actually the only doctor I have that does that. And the way he says it makes me feel like an idiot for even going there. If he would say "Does it sound ok for you?" or "Do you have an idea on what to do?" I'd feel different but the whole "And what do you want ME to do?" (yes he actually stresses the 'me';-) feels like .. dismissive?

Then he sounds like an asshat
