There is a friend of my wife's on facebook that only believes in dogs specifically bred to preserve breeds and hates the adopt don't shop movement. But all dog breeds are man made... But she treats beagles like they aren't???

She seems to hate mutts with a passion, even though, if dogs were left to their own devices, they wouldn't care what breed the other dog was...

but man made breeds have so many prooooooblems

And she shows 2 soon to be 3 of them.

Like the shows where the dog is just forced to be pretty and walk in a circle. She recently did one of these shows in the heat for three days and complained about that fact that her show male won't be able to do outdoor shows because he did poorly.

Just... Me, sitting here with my chi-mixes. And the fact they are both mixed with Chihuahua was not planned.

it sounds to me like she has things backwards

unless mixing a chihuahua with a particular breed causes or exacerbates health problems in the resulting dogs I don't think it should matter a single fig leaf

Well, she makes it sound like it's the dog's fault if they are a puppy mill dog or a backyard bred dog
