[continuing medical update][cw: emeto mention]

So I took the Effexor for a few days and hoo boy did that not work out for me.

I took the first pill Thursday morning and then threw up everything I ate from lunch on that day and continued to feel vaguely nauseous until I gave up on them, which extra sucked because my sister and the niblings were visiting from Thursday through Saturday.

And on top of that I had a lot of trouble sleeping and by the last day before I gave up I was starting to have trouble focusing my eyes so. IT WAS NOT A GOOD TIME.

I called my doctor and now I have a follow-up appointment for next week to figure out a different medication to try.

Thank god this is happening while I'm on an upswing anyway.

Every time I'm on an upswing my mood is so vastly improved that I'm always like "maybe I'm actually manic depressive" and then I have to remind myself that no, dingus, being in a good mood and being capable of doing more than one productive thing in a day isn't manic behavior, it's being a functional

human being.

Sounds fake though???

Anyway I've finally got my appetite back after like a month of barely eating so that's pretty great.

Maybe I can finally make it back to my old normal of 105 pounds.... I've dipped under 100 a lot recently....

"manic" isn't "good mood", manic is "so full of energy that you go completely scattered, have hideous bouts of anger at the drop of a hat, stop sleeping, your impulse control shits itself, you may wake up later and find yourself hundreds of dollars down," etc etc

It is honestly equally shit, you're just being shit a lot faster and more aggressively

So if you are more at "not feeling like shit and oh hey I can buy groceries and make a phone call" I would not worry about manic
