[In The Dark] I have so many thoughts about this show but first of all, a+ for them hiring an actual blind actress for season one (in a supporting role) and more for season two
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
a+ for them showing a makeout scene between a lesbian and a straight man that could have turned into "he cured her gay" but turned into "oh my god i'm definitely gay"
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
a+ for having a normalized lesbian relationship
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
a+ for having interracial parents, adoptive parents
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
a non-sexual and healthy friendship between a black teenager and an adult white woman
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
a+ for doing away with blindness-related myths like "heightened senses"
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
a+ for having a large cast of female characters of diverse backgrounds, races, and abilities
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
I was baffled as shit thought because people complained not because they cast a sighted actress in the lead role (the lead is a blind woman)
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
but because they didn't use a seeing eye dog to play the part of her seeing eye dog.
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
that is the most idiotic thing
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
I have ever heard
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
as an owner of a service animal
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
All the retakes and waiting and odd situations an actor dog has to do would totally destroy the training of a seeing eye dog
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
(Also a+ for being informative about training centers for seeing eye dogs)
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
anyway I recommend this show so much
