So what all would Naoki have for the first bit of Pod's dungeon?
Flash Bastard
Things I need to know before properly entering: that.
FluffyFaeCat
Knowledge of herbal medicine, how to treat illness/injury without magic, and how to use magic to heal
FluffyFaeCat
Also tattoos. Healers get tattoos of ivy up their arms. How far up determines rank. Naoki's would be either a high ranked journeyman or a newly minted healer
FluffyFaeCat
He's welcome to keep the magic and/or knowledge
Flash Bastard
nice
FluffyFaeCat
glowy green healing hands!
FluffyFaeCat
human healers are a bluish green. beast healers are green like new plants.

all healers have to go into a bit of a trance and concentrate. a glowing haze forms around their hands and they lay them over the wound to be healed. It does take energy! A small healing isn't taxing, a big healing will leave the healer exhausted, and a healer could force a healing until it literally drained their life away if they were literally desperate
FluffyFaeCat
(it's generally considered a bad idea to do a healing that takes so much energy it's in danger of killing you)
FluffyFaeCat
healings in Pod's world are more like accelerating the process. So it tends to hurt, kind of like all the pain of the natural process has been compressed into the few moments. (but it's generally considered worth it. A broken arm could lay up someone for months, but with a healer it's fixed in a matter of minutes)
FluffyFaeCat
(dragons are special, and their healing is both stronger, and just feels pleasantly cool instead of hurting. but human healers have to deal with the not-so-convenient healing magic)
FluffyFaeCat
but yes! that's the basics of healing!

(dark/blood magic injuries/poisonings don't always react well with healing magic... but that's less likely to come up, I think. and really, the trick with that would be to purify/remove the dark magical stuff and then do the healing)
