[queer shit] today in "animals can sense gender"

i went next door to deliver some baked goods my grandmother made since the woman there is ill, and they have a couple of small dogs

and one of them kept alternating between sniffing me in befuddlement and barking at me

and the husband goes "you know that's weird, he's usually a woman's dog who cuddles right up to them while always losing his shit at every guy but me"

animals know and are good and respectful

yeah i learned that if you're afab, dogs will misgender you. but there are far worse fates

from the experiences of my local transmasc group anyway

considering how confused he was, I think he just didn't know whether to bark at a dude or cuddle to a lady and like that's the experience i want

especially from a small and dumb chihuahua

wow. I haven't ever had any pets that had a noticeable difference in how they act toward any specific gender, but that's super interesting.
