Let The Little Mermaid be set in the Caribbean. Please.

The only representation we ever got was Pirates of the Caribbean which was set in colonial times and no actual aspects of Caribbean culture.

And then one (supposedly) Jamaican crab.

And literally all most white people know about the Caribbean is Jamaica. So much that there are several different Caribbean island versions of that same meme complaining that we all get mistaken for Jamaicans and it's fucking annoying.

We literally call the tourist half of Jamaica the "White People's Caribbean". Even my Jamaican friends are sick of it because that tourist side couldn't be further from their experience as locals. So even though all people know about the Caribbean is Jamaica, not even that is accurately portrayed

I've seen a different version of this "the Caribbean is Jamaica" meme for almost every island. We can all relate.

Portray our small islands accurately for once in your lives you cowards.

Y'all remember that time a mf tried to tell me that Rihanna was Jamaican and when I said "no she's Bajan" brudda man tried to educate me with "yes Baja is in Jamaica"

I still think about that to this very day.

If they did it right, it'd be so good.

I mean it'd make sense given the sea life.
