Located at a distance of about 40 km from Kabul, Mes Aynak is one of the most important archaeological sites in Afghanistan. The site is a world’s popular archaeological site basically due to the discovery of over 400 ancient statues of Budhas along with stupas and 100 acres monastery complex. The site is also the largest copper deposit site of Afghanistan.
