[tutoring] I'm laughing so hard. my student is visiting New Jersey and is complaining about it and had no idea that everything she was saying was a common stereotype here

she was saying that she had this terrible impression of it, the people and the traffic and the weather etc.

I was laughing through the whole thing and told her that everything she was saying was every joke that the rest of the country makes about NJ

and she just "REALLY???"

she was so surprised, she thought it was just her

she was like "even the dogs here are loud and rude! we got barked at so many times!"

the last time they visited, her dog caught some bug from the dog park and had diarrhea for months, and so she was like "I feel like New Jersey is bad for everyone!"

she's sooo funny. she's a mom from China now living in Boston. her kid won't practice english with her, so she talks to me instead. :'D
