I think for me it's kind of like... I don't really think about it terms of doing horrible things. I'm just like "what would be fun to play" or "what would make the best story" and I go that direction regardless of if something is terrible or not. I rarely ever do something to torture a character just because I want to torture them.

Carden has some interesting backstory to his backstory in that some of it was made by me originally and some of it ended up growing out of this other RP I was in, like, ten years ago and then the whole thing has gotten a pass-over with my older brain to smooth out some things that only 10-years-ago-me would have come up with/thought was cool.

So while I'm working on a playlist for him, I'm still a little torn on sharing it because it incorporates some stuff that really didn't make it into Duplicity much, mostly because of his "canon point" (does it count as that when it's an OC?)

In that a lot of it has to do with what he's like once he's much more aware of his magic and his legacy and is trying to reconcile that with his life up until that point, whereas I really wanted to give him the opportunity in Duplicity to grow into his magic.
