I just want to say as a gay NB person that a lot of people decide who you are based on who you love - sometimes currently. Its very frustrating to have to go 'well, I look like a normal cis hetero woman so I guess I best not do pride stuff.'

It’s that it seems disingenuous and untrustworthy, but that likely has a lot to do with how i feel about her in general. I’m a bisexual woman married to a man, so i don’t have to deal with a lot of the shit other queer people do, so I don’t feel I have much of a place in pride other than as an ally myself. For Taylor Swift, Is Ego Stronger Than Pride?

I dunno how much credence I want to give to an article that called a bisexual woman an ally. That's a big fucking red flag.

I missed that...

Lady Gaga has been out for ten years. She's been out for as long as I've been. Bisexuals are not fucking "allies" to their own communities.

But I guess when you don't consider bisexuals "real" members of the LGBT community, then any semblance of pride looks more like egoism.

I am bisexual and because I am married to a man, and therefore present to the world as just another hetero woman, consider myself an ally more than a member of the community. I’ve been told before that i don’t “count” because I’m married to a man, and I’m not gonna try to argue that with a group of people who face a lot more day to day than i do.

I can’t pretend I know what it’s like to live as a gay or trans man or woman because I’ve got it pretty easy in the grand scheme of things. Regardless of what term one of the people in the article used to describe Gaga, it makes a lot of solid points that i agree with and i know not everyone is gonna agree with those same points. We all live

Our own experiences and feel our own ways, so I can’t and won’t speak for anyone else, but the whole thing has felt very presentational to me, and is just so wrapped in the childish “step off haters” mess that I just can’t like it. But i understand that it is having a positive impact for some and that’s a wonderful thing. Just not my cup of tea.

Other Autumn 🍂 : the problem with that is A: you are still part of the LGBTQA+ spectrum. B: the Bi agenda: 1, don't get yelled at by straight people for not being straight, 2, don't get yelled at by gay people for not being gay, 3, don't let anyone know we're dragons...

Which is to say, there are divisions within the whole spectrum, there are gay people who don't think Trans people should exist, and plenty of gay people who don't think Bi people should be a part of the group either.

There are gay men who don't think lesbians should be a part of it, and the list goes on. So, guess what, you shouldn't have to be married to both a man and a woman at the same time to be a part of it; none of us should, because that's a form of erasure too.
