that reminds me of a comic I read recently

So Bakugou, who isn't even that good at saving people and mostly just prefers the fighting and winning part of being a hero, was like "...goddammit" and then determined to stick with her until he could be sure she was safe, because otherwise he hadn't really saved her and he understood that

and here my dumb badbrain immediately took it as "if you help someone you then have to dedicate your life to them otherwise you're a terrible person"

then I saw you meant in a prolifer way and I was like AH that makes more sense and is less anxiety-inducing to me

no badbrain, only hatred towards prolifers who don't give an actual fuck about children

Me being me, I jumped to "BUT WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO ADOPT ALL THE CATS!?"

it's kind of hilarious to me the many different routes people are going with this

I mean, I do agree with comic. It's well and good to help, but it's also important to know your limits and emotional bandwidth.

But again me being me, I instantly thought of a box of kittens.

fun fact, in the context of the manga, the griffin up there is actually kind of sheltering a bunch of children who've been abandoned in his forest... but he's a fucking griffin, he doesn't know shit about actually raising or caring for kids

like he can give them food, and a cave to hide in, but that's it. So he ends up sort of recruiting a "wanderer" (aka isekai protag) who has the mind of an adult in a kid's body to take care of them in his stead

specifically, to help raise the kids to be more self dependent, instead of the griffin just giving them food all the time
