"The way Endgame is shot, one could be led to believe that Steve simply zapped himself back to a point when he and Peggy Carter could be together, and the two went on to live happily ever after.
But according to the Russo Brothers, thatโs not the case."
"If Steve had done that, heโd fundamentally change the way history played out, making it so that the Avengersโ triumph over Thanos could never happen." ....um
"Thereโs a lot of layers built into this movie and we spent three years thinking through it, so itโs fun to talk about it and hopefully fill in holes for people so they understand what weโre thinking.โ" or you know
""The reason Spider-Man saw his friend again in high school at the end was simply because his friends were unfortunately also dusted like Spider-Man was."
"To those dusted people, they had no conscious in these past 5 years. They didn't know what happened. It's as if they had just woke up from a long sleep. The only one who was aware about how many years has passed was Doctor Strange."
the ONE thing that made this the reality to go with had nothing to do with anything except that this was the only version in which a rat loosed scott from the quantum realm
"Yes, the mouse saved the universe," Russo said. "Among the many realities in those 14 millions possible futures Doctor Strange foresee, the mouse failed to press button and thus the heroes failed in those futures."
"Cap and Red Skull probably won't fight. It's because it's his mission to return the stone to its original place. The Red Skull is also no longer the same Red Skull from FA. "
Also. It's not like Steve would get there with the Soul Stone, see Red Skull and know immediately that he "isn't the same anymore" whatever that may mean. He'd still totally go "Youuu-!"
I do not enjoy how much they put their thumbs on the scales in interviews. Like a nugget or two of info coming out? Sure. But this is JK Rowling level stuff here. Put it in the film (or books) or just shhhhhhh.
Although it was bothering me because he can't change the past but he can't be in the past without changing it so it does make sense to me that it would become a split off version of reality like Tilda's character described. The part that doesn't make sense is how he's sitting on that bench instead of being in a different reality.
And what a glib little answer for that. But fine. Okay. Sure. And then the "but he's probably met Bucky before because he knows this was all happening" WHAT? How did he meet our timeline's Bucky if he was in another AU? Shut uuuuuup.
Yeah, I mean, the Steve being on the bench thing hit me as not congruent with the movie's time logic, but I was willing to suspend belief (harder if you play him, but I don't so as just a viewer I was prepared for just being on the ride and not breaking it apart too much) but they really encourage that.
Especially because they didn't do anything to MAKE the rat happen. It pretty much needs to be that giving up his stone is what led them to this place that makes it all work otherwise there was no point in any of the actions? idk
The ancient one trusting that she can give up her stone based on Strange giving up his stone and all so MAYBE a rat can happen. I guess by then a rat had happened.
I mean yeah. Thor did lose EVERYTHING. And his whole family can't be returned to him. But he could just have been a hermit and have grown his beard and hair back. maybe he could have had Rapunzel hair by now. There are so many alternatives to show his suffering. I mean him becoming a total recluse and stepford smiler would have sufficed
And then he just snuggles up and Seb has to awkwardly sit in an arm chair and glance at Anthony and the couch longingly. We don't know who he longs for more.
I mean, honestly even if they chose having him gain weight they could have done it in some sort of more thoughtful way than just for laughs or pretending like that's just the norm. Like exploring the way someone who has been in peak form doesn't feel worthy of it or is trying to hide in a way or idk, something.
There were a couple of good aspects. He seemed generally ashamed of his inability to defeat Thanos sooner, but not of his body. And once he had his confidence back and wasn't drinking all the time he was still every bit as good a fighter as ever regardless of a little extra weight.
But it was the butt of jokes from other characters and even worse than that the camera's POV would FOCUS on it at times for comic effect. And all that was gross.
Ok. Apparently. Loki mothered one of his kids. Sleipnir who was conceived by sleeping a with a stallion. Well. Whatever floats your boat man. Eight legs just don't seem very useful at all.
"In one brief yet intriguing passage in the Song of Hyndla, Loki is described as having found a half-cooked witchโs heart in the embers of a dying fire and then eating it. By eating the heart of a witch, he became pregnant, thus obtaining one of the feminine mysteries. Loki gave birth to the first ogress, from which all other female ogres were descended. "
"In the ancient poem, Lokiโs Quarrel, Odin revealed that Loki lived as a milkmaid for eight winters under the earth in the land of the dead. In any event, Loki gave birth to a brood of witches, one each winter."
But according to the Russo Brothers, thatโs not the case."
The brothers smile.
โInteresting question, right?โ Joe said. โMaybe thereโs a story there."
Russos: Thor suffered more loss than anyone else, he has been living in constant pain and regret."
Russos: Did you forget when the heroes where mourning for her after when they returned from past? "
it's mickeyI thought that tooawwwRussos: Thor suffered more loss than anyone else, he has been living in constant pain and regret."

It sounds like he is friends with the couch more than SebStan
