I'm being reminded of Adam Sandler's Click with the "rewind" button xD

yep, except this one is more of a rewind button than a fast-forward one.

I wonder what other functions the device have.. no wonder the old man wanted it.

i'm guessing each of those small jewels probably has a specific function that goes along with it.
