If you crouch down and wait near a cat, Bayek reaches out to pet them. And you will sometimes get a cat following you after you do that

it happens with multiple cats too. you can have about 6 follow you sometimes

So far, I've not managed to pet one. Bleh.

I then to accidentally do it. if I'm hiding in a town behind grass they all seem to gravitate towards you.

in fact you can just stand still and they will do.

I wonder of the fact that I was wearing the cat outfit helped at all?

Maybe? I've tried just hanging out near them and crouching near them but so far they mostly just meow at me like "WELL, HUMAN?!"

you don't get the option to pet them, it'll just happen. it's very cute

Yeah, I know it just happens, but so far, I've done the 'triggers', and it doesn't happen.

They just sit there and meow and then give up when it doesn't happen.

Maybe there's a place in the game I have to get past? Idk. I'm over level 10 now, which I know isn't a hell of a lot, but... I'm just going to have to seek out more cats and go idle.
