I think an issue I had with Genichiro and maybe a few other bosses is that maybe because the combat is so technical in this game it's really hard to understand why you're failing at it

like I can watch people beat Genichiro but it looks like they're playing more or less the same way I am, but the nuance is presumably in their rhythm of attacks and deflects

I mean I got it eventually but for a while it didn't feel like I was getting better at Genichiro, just like I was banging my head against the fight hoping something would eventually click into place

maybe but I haven't upgraded my prosthetics in so long it feels like I was falling behind or something

but I figure it's kind of like bloodborne where upgrade materials of each tier are intentionally scarce until they aren't
