if theres anything about the season that genuinely felt like... intentional and not like there was meddling by dwa it's allura's death and im as salty about that as i am about anything else

its just so poorly written. the lack of consideration for her whole plotline at the end there is just so out of touch with her character and personality and the plotline she should have been telling

and like.... half me thinks maybe i got bad information because it seems so outlandish, but at some point in the afterbuzz video either LM or JDS comment how they should have realized that 'sometimes people want a happy ending" and that they shouldnt have been like... i dont know if "selfish" is the exact word, but it was in that wein

i personally like sad endings. i think that, when done correctly, theyre great and enjoyable and interesting

i REALLY like brokeback mountain. i REALLY like of mice and men. most of lovecraft IS tragic endings and i love all those stories. and killing characters for plotline emotion is like... interesting and engaging. fullmetal alchemist does a fucking amazing job with it. veronicas fake death was even pretty like moving i thought

and the reason it makes me sad is just like... how far detached from your storyline and your audience do you have to be to think that the ending of voltron, with allura dead, is an appropriate way to end the story

it completely fails to understand what kind of story has been told, fails to make use of plotlines that have been established. and i genuinely think that if lm and jds like SINCERELY planned this from the beginning that they have to have a severe lack of sense in storytelling themes

especially for this like... i guess genre for lack of a better term

and then the other thing that bothers me is that there was always a plan to be an epilogue apparently, not the one we got which is honestly horseshit and very poorly approached - but man hearing what they wanted to do kinda... frustrates me???
