if you want to avoid that as much as possible, stuff your farm islands with digimon and just evolve them into literally fucking whatever whenever you can

EXP grind is way less punishing than ABI grind so building up a stable of high-ABI digimon and filling out your evo tree will make grind sessions easier

periodically swapping out the frontliners with your bench and devolving/re-evolving them is good too, otherwise you hit a level cap wall halfway through the game and have to pause to fix that

don't treat it like pokemon with a linear shot through evolution, they're supposed to be more dynamic and your team should be shifting around a lot....like smtsona with less blood sacrifice

farm exp gain is really significant at the beginning then falls behind later on, abuse it while it's impressive
