As a knitter/crocheter: true neutral with neutral good tendencies.

hah
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
I feel like there's a version with 'gauge swatch' for knitters/crocheters
M. Gustave
Gauge swatch? We don't need no stinkin' gauge swatch.
M. Gustave
(Which clearly puts me more on a chaotic/evil axis.)
M. Gustave
I'm extremely finicky about a lot of what I do, but my approach to knitting and crochet is basically "hold my beer".

Can confirm
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
there is a goddamn gauge swatch one
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
I believe it

ᴇᴠɪᴇ
ooooohhhh
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
I...really should make a point of reading the Discworld series.
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
i keep trying to read the first one but it's not. enjoyable. But someone TOLD ME TO READ HOGFATHER INSTEAD
M. Gustave
Hogfather is my personal fave. I've never been keen on the Rincewind books or the first couple of witch books. The early Pratchett is kind of spotty.
M. Gustave
But the Watch books are good and i loved the later witch books and the Tiffany Aching books.

Hogfather is my favorite and actually kind of shaped my belief system??

i think I've hit every good and evil box at different points
Mica
tackydragons the one rule every discworld fan agrees on is, new readers should not start with the first one
Mica
The first couple of books in the Discworld are not terrible, but they are definitely the work of a writer who hasn't yet found his voice, nor the feet of the world he's building. They are.... eh.... Rough, is probably the right word.
Mica
You probably want to start with the third book, Equal Rites
ᴇᴠɪᴇ
ok I'll try that one :>
ꜱᴛʀᴀᴛᴇɢɪꜱᴛ
Just a +1 to starting Discworld, there's generally one section that will appeal... the Watch is fabulous ah. And not starting from the first book is wise. :')
Mica
If it helps at all, the first couple of books are almost totally irrelevant with the exception of one fact
Mica
1: There is a wizzard, named Rincewind, who is possession of a box with legs, that is alive and called The Luggage.
Mica
okay maybe a second fact: Rincewind is the platonic ideal of a coward
