As a film it is good but it portrays a real mental health issue as something that makes a person dangerous and that's just not something we need more of.
The myth of the alter who's a hideous dangerous monster serial killer needs to go up in flames and never be seen again. Easy for people to go "ehh, it's just a story and it doesn't do real harm" except that yeah, actually it does.
one friend had to spend two hours convincing her prospective landlord that no, she wasn't going to go berserk or be difficult just because she has DLD, seriously. And that after getting rejected by a host of other places who honestly talked to her like any second she'd pull out a knife.

: yeah, totally agree with you on that front. when I say 'as a film it's good' I mean like 'as a film in a hypothetical world where DID doesn't actually affect people'.
I know, I'm not going to shame anyone who went to see it. unless they then start spouting the BS about anyone with DLD being potentially a psycho monster and not even aware of it yadda yadda. And like I said, I bet McAvoy did do an amazing job showcasing different identities.
what are y'all guys thoughts on it.
