But it is in bad need of a battery change. And to do that in Australia costs about half the price of a new phone. So I'm thinking of saving up and buying a new phone. Maybe an Oppo R17

(I work in accounting for a phone insurance company so I get to see the difference in repair costs everyday)

But just to put it in perspective we would get a claim for a damaged Samsung phone for about every 10-15 apple ones. Now they're more like 1 Samsung to every 2-3 Apple phones.

I mean, maybe Samsung suddenly sky-rocketed in popularity since the S8 but it's like hmmmmmmmmm

And to repair a screen on an s7 costs between 200 - 400 dollars. And the S8/S9 are between 450 - 900

I get some price hikes because newer phone/technology but still. It's a jump

I would still take an S8 or S9 over an Apple phone in terms of durability any day
