Quinn Angstrom
[tabletop summary] Tower of Valor 1/18.
Quinn Angstrom
Quinn Angstrom
The final battle against Arche, God of the Tower.
Quinn Angstrom
The beginning was grim, with nothing being able to pierce the barrier surrounding her as her divine fury overwhelmed everyone.
Quinn Angstrom
The first turning point was when Ragnarok pushed past the limits of the Skygrass Clan, achieving the fabled Fourth Ignition - rather than a weapon or an attack, it simply applied to the space before her the concept of having been cut.
Quinn Angstrom
With the barrier down, the tables started to turn.
Quinn Angstrom
As it did, Eleanor and her friends gradually dragged out Arche's justifications and history.
Quinn Angstrom
As it turns out, she no longer remembers nearly anything about her mortal life and the things that she loved enough to create the Tower in service of.
Quinn Angstrom
All she remembered was the wish, and she became something inhuman in order to grant it.
Quinn Angstrom
When the party pushed her even further, she made a sacrifice to ensure her victory -
Quinn Angstrom
she drained an entire Tower floor of life, pouring it into her own atma.
Quinn Angstrom
Again the party refused to die, pushing her into more and more of a corner - both in combat, and in their arguments.
Quinn Angstrom
Saying that God may wish for the Ascent to continue, but the girl named Arche doesn't.
Quinn Angstrom
ANd that her true wish was lost long ago.
Quinn Angstrom
That was about when they reached Floor 9999, the very top of the Tower, and saw the stars in the sky overhead.
Quinn Angstrom
Orbiting them, innumerable worlds beyond its confines.
Quinn Angstrom
Then, Arche introduced Eleanor to the girl she really wanted to meet.
Quinn Angstrom
She distorted time, turning herself into the person she was nine thousand years ago.
Quinn Angstrom
Almost immediately, she was overcome with the sorrow and pain that is all that remained of her original self.
Quinn Angstrom
Eleanor declared, with absolute certainty, that she was going to save her.
Quinn Angstrom
So, Arche showed them the magnitude of her pain, crushing them under the unbearable weight of God's suffering.
Villain
Then she dropped The Tower on us
Quinn Angstrom
They endured.
Quinn Angstrom
Eleanor replied with her own feelings, one idiot who doesn't know how to deal with being unhappy to another, as her own final attack - the Jupiter Peacemaker.
Quinn Angstrom
Jun pushed his will so far that he regained a single memory of his own childhood, turning it into his own final attack.
Quinn Angstrom
Orion and Iseul both affirmed that they had Arche's back when she wants to stand back up, following it up with a star-themed attack under a sky of true stars.
Quinn Angstrom
Zoa showed her kindness,
Quinn Angstrom
and she finally broke.
Quinn Angstrom
With Arche on her knees, mourning that she's reached her limit without ever finding her successor,
Quinn Angstrom
Eleanor declared that together they would create a world where nobody needs to sit on the throne of God.
Quinn Angstrom
Next: Epilogue.
連続犬
I didn't cause nearly as much emotional devastation as everyone else, but I am proud of
連続犬
Gabriel... thank you for all you've done. But I can't hold onto you anymore.
Someone else needs my help far more, right now.
Villain
Oh don't worry
Quinn Angstrom
Quick session breakdown:
Villain
I saw that
Villain
and it hurt
Quinn Angstrom
Arche was the standard endboss type, a Level 22 Master
Quinn Angstrom
Spirit/Guts build, but four of her attacks (Sword of the Heavens, Adamantine Symphony, Fist of Annihilation, Tower Cleave) had Damage Shift
Quinn Angstrom
She was VERY strong.
Quinn Angstrom
Nothing complex, no special mechanics.
Quinn Angstrom
Three transformations (Eyes of God, The Death of Floor 2388, and The Girl I Was) and one ultimate attack (The Tower).
Quinn Angstrom
Kaja had to leave, so we're doing an epilogue session next week before this game properly ends.
Quinn Angstrom
I think the two scenes in the campaign that fucked me up the most in terms of real emotions were
Quinn Angstrom
- Seasnake Marionette
Quinn Angstrom
- Ragnarok's final meeting with Alexander 13
Villain
I never actually described what the attack was
Villain
But imagine, like, a tornado of garotte wires
Quinn Angstrom
I imagine that it's a bit less chaotic than that and more precise
Villain
Depends on how he wants to do it. He could just make a mess of flying body parts, or he could precisely fling someone around with only discomfort
Quinn Angstrom
I just had a very distinct mental image,
Quinn Angstrom
https://images.plurk.com/3AJ03qa0H3HUoXlHU8QnPc.png of Ragnarok's voice cracking slightly on "Alexander..."
