HAHAHAHHA that'll teach him! But
EvieMiles
did raise a legit question and now I'm curious too. What about the camera person and how close were they when they filmed it?
Most amazing to me is that the helicopter didn't blow up a ton of snow. The main reason to not do a rescue that close is to prevent that blowing around of dust and snow cutting of your visibility.
I was on edge the whole short video. I'm amazed helicopter can even be balanced statically (not sure the right word) that way. Must take so much experience for that kind of know-how
It takes a bit of experience and a good auto-balance system. It also means the pitch of the blades needs to change every revolution so it puts a lot of wear on the mechanical stuff;
I'm wondering if the upturn at the end of the blades has something to do with why the snow wasn't blown everywhere. I don't know enough about the aerodynamics of it all.
