the magicians astonishes me in how it captures the feelings of everything good and everything bad about fanfic in a single show

anyway I watched season 3 over the last two days now im freed

it's just. it's such a bad show but it has such good moments which i guess is why i consumed a bunch of garbage over the month of december

Pretty much

I'm a grand master at tuning out the shit I dont like to the point where I have missed whole narratives

espresso witch : the thing with the pirate boat made me roll my eyes into the back of my head

and also the whole fairy slavery thing

and i mean

A LOT OF THINGS

IT IS SUCH A BAD SHOW

Yeah like, SO MUCH IS BAD

But I just love the good stuff SO MUCH

I just rewatch the parts I like over and over again

YEAH yeah... I was talking to my hairdresser about it because she watched the first season then had to stop at That Scene

and she commiserated with me on how the good parts are like good fanfic but the bad parts are just hacky torture porn

right like

I love it for what I love, but here we are

I feel like the worst part about it is that every character has something interesting and compelling about them but then the show just continuously shits on them in new and creative ways

like Alice, Julia, and Kady are all honestly really interesting female characters

Eliot and Penny have a ton of depth to them

Quentin is self-pitying garbage but whatever and tbh I liked Margo less as the show went on

but that's still a very solid five out of seven but then the show just like. continually shits on them and doesn't really allow them to grow or overcome anything before it throws some new garbage at them

like christ Alice has been three different characters throughout the duration of the show
