[The Whole Plate] Figured that I'd bring this back. I've been consuming a lot more media since The Incident, and I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up — be it do to internal or external circumstances — so I figured what the hell.
The former is a science fiction film where a man slowly falls in love with a sentient AI. It's an odd premise, but it's told really well. Won a bunch of awards, and has some great actors giving some killer performances in it. Highly recommended.
The latter I wasn't sold on initially, because... well, the protagonist has a very immature view on love, and it comes off as very cringey. (Then again, when your perception on love is based on a misinterpretation of The Graduate, then I suppose that's to be expected.) However, I started to dig it the more the movie went on.
There were a bunch of neat scenes that really made it for it — mad props to both Expectation vs Reality, and the flashback scenes where he analyzed his relationships — and now I'm happy to say I wouldn't mind firing it up again one day. It isn't one of my favourite rom-dramaedys, but I think that it's fairly solid.
