The Sylveon was probably his starter. He had no idea what to evolve it into but loved the hell out of it until the affection made that choice for him.

The Gallade and Gardevoir are a breeding pair and he absolutely gives baby Ralts to everyone

(with two empathy-heavy psychic types in the party and a highly empathetic trainer, strong emotions tend to get out of hand)

(hence them winding up sitting at the daycare a whole bunch because augh why can people just stop feeling sad?)

(but it means cute pokemon babies to hand out to friends so!)

Ninetales because I seem to recall lore about it being immortal or very long lived and constantly outliving its trainers? It's been a while since I read a pokedex

But Enoch is quite possibly the only trainer who would ever outlive his Ninetales

Crobat because he's that person who would get a Zubat thrown away in Wonder Trade and give it a home and stable fighting party.

Primarina reminds him of Armaros.

Also he needed a water type capable of carrying him in case he fell into the water off of anything else because guess who can't swim

Half his team is fairy type and that sounds right to me so I'd say I made the right choices for him!

also, side note: he's only ever comfortable or totally broke because he doesn't battle wild pokemon. He gets the idea that other wild pokemon leave unconscious ones alone but he still feels bad for even thinking about leaving a fainted pokemon out there all alone.

(I guarantee you he has been attacked twice by the same wild pokemon due to watching over it)

(this is probably how he got at least one of his Ralts, on the other hand)

but anyway if he battles it's only against other trainers so, constantly either earning or losing money.

Katherine would collect pokemon and try to learn how to shapeshift into them

Sayano would balk at not being allowed to defend herself from wild animals attacking her

Enoch's the only one who would even remotely fit in.

(now if they were born into the world...that cuts Katherine out because she's such a product of her setting she'd be someone totally different, but Sayano would just collect all the cutesy ones I guess?)
