[HxH] Okay so although I think that Hunter x Hunter is mostly just Okay in general, I'd completely forgotten about this totally gonzo plot point and I'd like you all to appreciate it

Midway through the Yorknew City arc, arc villain Chrollo has thoroughly pissed off the local mafia.

He and his boys raided an underground auction, murdered a shitload of mafia guys, stole a fortune's worth of loot.

The mafia had been sending all their toughest guys in to try to murder Chrollo, and they'd just been getting their asses kicked left and right.

So finally, the mafia's top bosses go 'fuck this'

'we're calling in professionals to deal with this'

So they call up the Zoldycks.

Now, the Zoldycks are a family of super assassins.

Deuteragonist Killua is their middle child.

"It'll cost a fortune, but they always get their man", the mafia bosses tell themselves.

So what does Chrollo do?

He also calls up the Zoldycks.

And hires them to kill the mafia bosses.

So now it's basically turned into a race between different super assassin family members

because whoever kills their target first, the other group no longer has anyone to pay for the hit, and so they'll get called off.

(spoiler warning, the Zoldycks going after the mob bosses get there first, by a few seconds)
