Just watched Street Fighter (the Jean Claude Van Damme movie) and Halloween (the original) with my brother, so today wasn't as productive as I'd hoped, but still fun.

Street Fighter was, as we both expected, cheesy goodness - Raul Julia's eyes deserve some kind of award, and every scene that he was in was pure gold.

Raul Julia was a treasure. Truly a treasure

As for Halloween, I'd seen it before, but my brother hadn't. I'm normally not a fan of horror movies, but I really like that the movie focuses on suspense rather than gore or jump scares. John Carpenter helps; so far, I'm four for four in terms of liking movies that he's directed. (The others being Escape from New York, The Thing, and They Live)

I got a four pack of Universal monster movies (Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon), so I might watch some of those over the next few weeks. If I can set aside a few hours, I might try a double feature of Creature and the Shape of Water, since Guillermo Del Toro was apparently inspired by the former.

Of those four, I've only seen Frankenstein.
