It looks like... I could be able to get a new service dog puppy by next year.... and I'm very excited and also trying NOT to be too excited.

This time the pup would be coming from a breeder and not a rescue because I.... have access to fewer excellent rescues here than I did when I lived near Atlanta

And Woodrow's early blindness was rough for both of us, so a health history is... good.

YEAH........ I mean, I got SO lucky to find an excellent rescue in Georgia who HAPPENED to have The Right Dog

Yeah... But i imagine that for the same issues that hppened with woodrow it's just the more ensurable decision. Nothing wrong with a good breeder

Yeah, basically! I'm over here distracting myself from the IRS by making an Amazon wishlist lmfao.... I won't have a puppy til spring so it's not really anything pertinent, just self-indulgent preplanning

But yeah the thing is, I had no medical history or health related guarantees for Woodrow, just this amazing dog and a really supportive rescue and dog school (who started me in training and now look at me lmfao)

Now I don't have either of those, but even if I did, I don't want to... train a dog and only be able to rely on them for four and a half years, you know.... it sucks for the dog, too, Woodrow is chill about being retired but I know he's not as into it as he was into working.
